My father, without a...

Jan 28 - My father was transferred to Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban in an ambulance.
Jan 29 - He had to undergo a surgery for a diabetic foot ulceration or sepsis that he's been suffering from for the past few weeks (or months). It was a minor one though as the doctor just wanted to remove the pus produced on the infected part on his right toes.
Jan 30 - He looked more cheerful than he was for the past few days although still dehydrated. If anything went well, he could be discharged tomorrow. I was relieved.
Jan 31 - He texted to say thanks to Along, Ain and Apit for 'writing' the long warkah for him. Apparently, their Mak Ngah had printed it and passed it over to him to read in the ward. Couldn't imagine how he must've felt when reading it...
Feb 1 - No sign he would be discharged today.
Feb 2 - My eldest brother texted me telling that father would have to undergo a second surgery. It seemed that the first one wasn't enough for father's present conditon. But this time, I was told that he didn't sound as worried as he was before the first surgery. Probably, he was mentally prepared now. - Angah texted saying father looked healthy after the surgery and had the appetite to eat. Alhamdulillah.
Feb 3 - I texted my father asking his condition today and when he would be discharged from the hospital. He said he didn't know yet, probably tomorrow...Really hope so. He sounded so optimistic.
One thing’s for certain, my father will be leaving the hospital without a toe on his right foot.

happy to hear that he is on his road to full recovery now...it is still not too bad compared to my good fried who just lost his 3rd toe last month..one thing for sure, someone has to be the strongest in the family to nag , nag and continue nagging..if not, they will not control what they eat. My father in law pun sakit banyak pantang larangnya but he does not listen to anyone.. expect her youngest child..kalau teh lily yang becakap..sekali cukup, obeyed till the end of time....
don't worry too much kawan..

zlaa, so sorry to hear about your dad. a similar incident happened to my dad, but only it left a 'hole' on the upper side of his foot. After a month in the ward, he went home yesterday. I hope and pray for your dad's speedy recovery and may Allah give us all strength in our iman.

Naza, thanks for your concern. What you said is very true. There must be someone very firm in the family to keep nagging on his diet. I don't think my mom is the right person, not because she doesn't care but because she's too caring. That explains why I could get away with 'pantang moden' during my confinement under my mom's supervision he he...and I definitely can't be the one either. I think my eldest sis, who managed to 'pujuk' him to the hospital, can be the one or my second sis.

That friend of yours is too young to have lost three toes! I suppose he's also strong enough to be suffering all this. My father is 73 and I'm just worried if the age factor can contribute to the worse. Let's hope not.

Su, thanks and sorry to hear about your dad too. I got to know it from your hubby when we met him at Fudzail and Kak Azma's house during makan2 steamboat last two weeks. You were back home in KT that time. Yup, let's keep our fingers crossed that no worse news coming, and may Allah give us all the strength in iman especially our beloved fathers.

Wiz doakan your father cepat sembuh Ziela. Like your "Yang" has fondly spoken about him, he is still a great man with or without one toe. Nothing would change that.
